1. On a personal basis, I complied with a request of a
research team working at Georgetown on Mechanical Translation,
in ithich CIA is significantly involved, to listen to a tale of
woe. I shall report this personally to you for such use as you
feel should be made of the information.

language training effort, the following figures from the Bureau of
the Budget for 1959 have just come to us and are included here as
a matter of interest:
