B. OTHER ACTIVITIES
1. The meeting with which arranged for the
past Monday morning gave the OTR delegation an admirable
opportunity to spell out what we are doing and will soon be
doing o het repare personnel and dependents for overseas
duty. and I differentiated between I 's to ical,
and our area, approach to the briefings, while put the
new IOE training course in proper perspective. has
long since proved his keen personal interest in area train-
ing by lecturing in numerous co ses and also putting WE
squarely behind our offering of last year. e
seemed entirely satisfied with our revamped AAO's, which now
stress the behavior problems of American personnel and de-
pendents overseas.
2. Reactions in both DDP and DDS to our proposed AAO briefings
on "How to make the most of" everyday and job contacts with
have been highly encouraging. of
DDP will handle the session on everyday contacts, and Ernie
of OL will be one of the team on job contacts. We
will tape these and a number of other new sessions in this
course. hope to be able to attend
those on contacts.
3. We had thought the picture had improved regarding enrollment
for this course, which is scheduled mornings next week. Oral
commitments from TO's totalled 15 as of Friday, but as of
this morning (Wednesday) R/TR has only 5 requests. TO/EE has
forwarded only one of the 10 previously promised, complaining
that clerical shortages have delayed follow-up on the remain-
ing 9. Deadline for registration was a week ago last Monday.

4. ~ substituting fore join of ONE
to handle the communist parties in CEP course
discussed the structure of a conmiunist party, while
covered the backgrounds of the communist parties of the three
countries with which this course is concerned.
5. My lawn party on Sunday for the 1800 Wing produced a close
to 100% turn-out despite near-gale winds. Needless to say,
this did not turn out to be the most profitable way to attract
the needed hands for berrypicking!
