1. Of 19 persons registered for our Americans Abroad Orientations
this week, five failed to appear. We thus had nine for
and five for Western Europe. We learn by the grapevine'that in
several shops information about, and registration for, these
courses is still not handled systematically, despite our frequent
direct contacts with TO's and our liberal distribution of current
schedules. The one-day briefing on Western Europe was handled oniMonday instead of Saturda in view of the small numbers enrolled
and in order to utilize prior to his trip. are greatly
encouraged by reactions of the class a to the revised
content of the five half-day briefing and will report
more fully on this next week.
2. A display chart of types of area courses, showing objectives and
recommended se auences, is being prepared by VAS/ISB. Designed by
this chart has been cleared with S01TR for use
on the large bulletin board facing our 1800 Wing, which will be
on the route of all LAS traffic when the new entrance to the area
has been opened. We will forward a hand-out size reproduction of
this chart at a later date.
