UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT Chief, Language and Area School DATE: 14 October 1959 FROM : Deputy Chief, Area Training suBJEcT: Weekly Activities Report 25X1 25X1 25 YEAR A. SIGNIFICANT ITEMS None B. OTHER ACTIVITIES 1. The Area Training Roundtable derived a two-fold benefit The Thursday session at which both groups met together for the first tifne helped to clarify some of the questions in our minds about the pros and cons of combining area with language instruction. The voices of (French) and (German) come through admirably for the most part, and our only recommendation for any future such effort would be to tone down or eliminate the background music. We are preparing to run the film in both languages over the lunch hour on 28 October in 102 I Building for the convenience of interested RE-REVIE Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2009/12/18: CIA-RDP61-00442A000200040042-9 Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2009/12/18: CIA-RDP61-00442A000200040042-9 DDP components.
