H.R. 6474, A Bill to Establish a Veterans
Preference Employees Appeals Office, and
for Other Purposes
This proposal would establish a Veterans Preference Employees
Appeals Office as an independent Government agency to handle
veterans' affairs relating to discharge from the Federal service,
suspension, furlough without pay, reduction in rank or compen-
sation, debarral from future appointment, and any other adverse
personnel action taken by an administrative officer. We do not
foresee any administrative difficulties which could not be over-
come in handling Agency personnel matters with such an organization,
although it is likely that some special procedural agreements would
be required.
