In addition to lists of delegates and summary reports, included is an "Agreed Record of Discussion and Understand- ing" which states, inter alia: "With regard to the Sulawesi (Celebes) Sea, the two delegations recognize that it is a semi-enclosed sea and that riparian States have special rights and interests with respect to its resources, both living and non-living, the preservation of the marine environment, the preven- tion of pollution, the promotion of scientific research, the exploration and/or exploitation of its resources as well as the preservation of peace and security in the area. "As to the problems of delimiting the seabed boundaries between the two countries, the delegation of Indonesia recon- firmed its adherence to the positions it had taken at the discussions held in Manila and New York, pamely, that the boundary, lines should be the median line between thi?Biaelines of the two restive archi.elagic States, namely, the baseline ithich connects the outermost points of the oiitermos islanda of the two countries. The Indonesian delegation indicated again, as shown on the map annexed herewith, part of the proposed median line, namely, between the Philippine baseline connecting the points of Miangas and Marore (Batu Bawaikang). In view of the limited scope of its Instruction, the Philippine delegation made record of the Indonesian position as stated herein, and assured that the same will be brought to the attention of the appropriate Philippine authorities." 3.
