S1 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/12/28: CIA-RDP90-00965R000100170078-1 RADIO TV REPORTS, INC. 4701 WILLARD AVENUE, CHEW CHASE, MARYLAND 20015 656-4068 PROGRAM Jack Anderson STATION June 17, 1980 6:24 AM WTOP Radio Mutual Radio Network Washington, D.C. Spanish-Speaking Crew at CIA JACK ANDERSON: Well, one of the best kept secrets in Washington, at least until this broadcast, was the fact that there's only a skeleton Spanish-speaking crew on duty at the Central Intelligence Agency. The spy agency's top analysts on Latin America, along with Spanish translators, were shipped out for the Cuban refugee camps weeks ago. They hope to gather infor- mation about the situation in Cuba from the exiles. Well, so far my sources say the CIA operatives haven't scored any real intelligence coups among the refugees. Meanwhile, Inside the CIA, one analyst candidly admitted, "We're hoping nothing big happens in Latin America for a while."
