1. The attached) (prepared in response to a query to the
Counterterrorist Center concerning the likelihood of Tunisia becoming a future base for
terrorist operations. Despite Tunisia's unstable political environment, we do not see any
evidence that state sponsors of terrorism or radical Palestinian terrorist groups seek to
turn Tunisia into a safehaven or base for terrorist operations.
