THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
to Early in January 1949 UDU arrested 11 workmen (including three foremen)
for sabotage at the *Partizan" cement factory at Solin (near Split),,
All those arrested (except one) were Cozmaunists0
24, It is not known whether this had anything to do with the decision of the
factory?s administrative board at its meeting of 20 aanuary 1949 to "stage
a demonstration of confidence" in Marshal Tito. As a result of this demonstration
the factory is to work three shifts a day while the men are required to work
two hours on their off-days *to produce cement necessary for the defense of
the country'0
