1. BRILLIANT RESULTS OF. SOCIALIST ECONOMY
The Central Statistic Bureau of the USSR Cabinet made public an
announcement of the execution of reconstruction plax;,% of the people's
economy for the early half of the 1953. Statib~ics proved that Soviet
Russia continues her progress toward a 'ciimuniet world..
2. YOUTH, HEALTH AND POWER . . .
On July 19, Russian physical Education Day, athletic meets were held
in many places. There was an especially large meet at Dynamo stadium. Over
700,000 people greeted champions. from China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Thai-
land, who were on their t:ay to the World Youth Celebration.
3. TODAY'S VOLGA DON CANAL . . .
The Volga--Don Cana]. ?, a# opened, on July 27 of last year. Now a thirsty
plain has become a large reservoir to which many ships and produce have free
access.
4. COAL MINING WITH MACHINERY . . .
Workers of an unknown coal mine are ready to begin today's work with
new type of coal digging machine.
5. SHOE PRODUCTION IN RUSSIA . . .
Various workshops under the Ministry of Light Industry produced a
large number of shoes within the first half of this year. A greater number
of various shoes are expected to be made within the later half of the year.
6. MACHINES FOR REPUBLIC FACTORIES . . .
According to a Taos dispatch from Leningrad a factory by the name of
"Karl Marx", is supplying spinning machines to the affiliated Republics.

YOUTH ORCHARD BEARS FRUIT . .
There is an orchard named "Sixteen Republics", south of Vladimir
(s'ic). The orchard was planted in 1948 to celebrate the first Russian
Youth Agricultural Conference held at Vladimir; Deep comradeship among the
young gardeners of the sixteen Republics was consolidated into this old
Russian city. The boys have been waiting for their first fruit from the
orchard and now their desire is fulfilled.
8. IARIM' WORKER ? S CREATI OE . . .
A hay gathering machine in Zedilovsky (sic) a Sovkhoz ranch is a
target of much interest. The machine was created by Sebenkov (sic), chief
engineer'of the Sovkhoz,
9. FIVE COLLEGE GRADUATES IN A KOLKHOZ FAMILY
A mail man delivered eight books to Ilya Olyanin (sic), a member of
Kolkhoz living in Sasasi (sic) village: Olyanin?s family library has over
12,000 books. Five college graduates among his family order these books.

20. CHERNI SHEVSKY BIRTHDAY .
July 24, 1953 is the 125th anniversary of the birth of Chernishevsky
a great revolutionary thinker of Russia. Throughout his life, he dedicated
himself for materialist philosophy. He severely criticized supporters of
bourgeois system.
11. NEW CONSTRUCTION AT ARMENIA3S CAPITAL . . .
Molotov National University is being constructed in the capital of
Armenia. 640 rooms and an auditorium with the capacity of 1,000 students,
will be included in the building.
12. PROSPEROUS KOLKHOZ AREA
All Kolkhoz members in Aravanak (sic) area have become prosperous,.
Kirghiz press has reported.
13. EDUCATION IN TRE FACTORY . .
Many young workers of the Alma Ata Spinning Factory, Kazahk Soviet
Socialist Republic, are going-to night schools ? primary, high school and
college - after their.work day. Most students continue night time colleges
after finishing this school their 7 year factory schooling.
14. CULTURE IN A KOLKHOZ VILLAGE . . .
Kolkhoz members of the Rohi (sic) Lenin Farm Cooperative in Ardovsk.
(sic) area, Tadzhik Soviet Socialist Republic, are enjoying high level cultural
living. Most of the. houses have radios and take newspapers. Many young peoples
are going colleges and universities. The village library has a great number

The steel bridge across the Taenyong River was completely repaired on
2..5 October,' and the first train crossed it at 1030 p.m, on the 27th of October.
The bridge which runs on the line between Pyongyang and Sinuiju is the 3rd
largest of its kind in. North Korea. The work was undertaken by railroad
engineers of CPVF on 8 September.

6.' GREAT VICTORY OF THE OCTOBER REVOLUTION . . .
36 years ago today the heroic Russian working classes established
the proletarian government under the leadership of Lenin and Stalin by up,
setting the capitalist system for the first time in the world. Since that
time, the great victory of the October revolution has urged the oppressed
classes of the world to fight bravely against imperialists and capitalists,
the eternal enemy of an oppressed class. In the 2nd World War Poland,
Rumania, Czechoslovakia, Korea and other countries were liberated from
the regime of imperialism by the decisive victory of Russian troops. Now
those countries are fighting bravely against imperialistic countries of the
world under the guidance of great Russia.
?, OCTOBER REVOLUTION AND THE NK PEOPLE . . .
Under the Inspiration of the October revolution, the Sam II move-
ment against Japanese imperialists occurred in Korea on 1 March 1919. Later
brave NK people fought against the Japanese imperialists by guerrilla
fighting for their independence and freedom of the fatherland under the
leadership of Marshal KIM 11-sung. Since Korea was liberated from the regime
of the Japanese imperialists by the decisive victory of the mighty Russian
troops, NK people established the proletarian government and have achieved
the victory in the fatherland war against American imperialists and their
running dogs with the brotherly aid of mighty Russia and other countries.
8. COMMUNIST CONSTRUCTION IN RUSSIA . n
The Soviet people are striving for communist construction by
----carrying out the theories of Marx and En,e1s under the guidance of the
Russian Communist Party and Russian government. Industrial production
has increased 300% over 1940 through the five year plan. Production of
crops has increased from 40% to 50% over last year. Wages of laborers,
engineers and clerks have raised 35% over last year.

1. STABILIZE TIES BETWEEN KOREA AND THE SOVIET UNION . .
It has been five years since diplomatic relations were established
between our republic and the Soviet Union. After our nation was liberated
by the Soviet Army, the Democratic People"s Republic of Korea was established
in accordance with the will of the people, in September 1948, On 8 October
of the same year KIM Il-sung and Stalin set up diplomatic and economic re-
lations between the two nations. In addition to aid which brought the
remarkable development of our people?s economy before the war and enabled us
to achieve the glorious victory, the Soviet Union is to render 1 billion
ruble for our post-war reconstruction. It will be the largest material
guarantee for rehabilitation and improvement of our living standards. Today
the Korean people, celebrating the 5th anniversary of diplomatic and economic
relations with the U.S.S.R. are determined to stabilize our victory by
strengthening friendly relations with the Soviet people.

The most important task for us is to reconstruct the people's
economy damaged during the war. All artists and novelists show their
patriotic zeal in the progress of culture and art through studying Russian's
advanced culture and art. Works of artists and novelists have rendered
distinguished service in leading the NR people to achieve victory in the
fahterland war. All novelists and artists should keep Stalin's work in
their minds, "ideological fighting is more desperate and intense fighting
than military fighting."

The ILK. T eople 0 s Army achieved the victory in the fatherland
war against American imperialists and their running dogs by the strengthening
of military regularity. All soldiers and officers should recognize the
