The attached report is submitted in accordance with
para 2.b. of reference (b). For convenience, the report is
divided into three parts. Part I assesses the degree to
which the research, analysis and production activities of
CIA may be able to correct the stated deficiencies in
intelligence in Communist China; Part iI assesses the degree
to which collection activities under CIA cognizance may be
able to correct these defteiencies; Part III contains CIA's
comments on the recommendations contained in paragraph 9 of
reference (a).
