1, The War Claims Act, 1948 (Public Law 896, 80th Congress)
provides for the pay-iient of certain benefits to: (a) members of the
military and naval forces of the United States who were held prisoner
of war by an eneri y ?;overro ent; (b) civilian United States citizens
captured and interned by the Javanese Government or who went into
hiding to avoid capture or :i..nternrrx nt by tine. Japanese Government;
(c) survivors of -n;)ersonc indicated in (a) and (b) above.
2. Claims under the Act must be filed prior to 2 viarch 1951,
