The JFfIC believos that the Soviets currently do not have quantities of any artillery ~T fuze operable under high accelerations to an extent greater than those needed for limited testing It is known, however: that sufficient information has been available to them from German ideas and personnel, and from examination and teats of several samples of ~'orld War II t7. S, proximity fuzes to permit them to evolve asn acceptable design of artillery fuze. ~. ~No direct evidence is available on the quantity production of Soviet artillery 1IT fuzes. Rowever. it is believed the Soviets are now capable of producing operational quantities of proximity fuzee for low acceleration missiles because of the less exacting engineering require- ments.~ 3.
