Of Special Interest This Week
+ The FBIS Bureau in Bangkok extended its operating hours during
the week to provide full reportage from Indian and Pakistani media on
the hijacking of the Pan American airliner in Karachi. The bureaus in
Paraguay and Panama also worked extended hours to cover events following
the assassination attempt against Chilean President Pinochet. Panama
Bureau was able to monitor from satellite the live TV press conference
given by Pinochet in the wake of the attack and to provide consumers with
reports on his physical condition. (U/AIUO)
