Mosion A-2023
1. Reference is made to page-size overlay SC/OI-.23-56 and its
accompanying base map. The combination of the map and overlay depicts
the flight track of Mission A-2023 and shows time and selected check
and turning points.
2. All statements in this prelim nary report are based upon
such observations as could be made by two analysts separately monitoring
the two information channels while making a copy of the tape. No
machine measurements have been made as yet because of concentration
on higher priority target areas.
3. TOXEN signals were intercepted within a few miles after
penetration and continuously thereafter until exit. From one to
eight simultaneous signals were received at any given point.
4. Several times during the flight Tn'TFF fire control radar
signals were received. The most significant of the k'FIFF signals was
received about 50 miles west of LVOV where 1 minute 15 seconds of
automatic lock-on occurred,, break-locks and then followed by 1 minute
45 seconds of lock. In the CRIMAN area there were several cases of
intermittent search and lock.
5, Unidentified signals on this flight were few, almost all of
wrich occurred in Czechoslovalda. P'acbine analysis is currently being
performed for the entire flight.
