MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Security (P&M)
SUBJECT : Annual Report to the Attorney General
on Wiretapping and Eavesdropping, 1974
1. Reference is made to your memorandum, subject
as above, dated 18 June 1974, wherein you requested that we
submit an inventory of wiretapping and electronic eavesdropping
equipment.
2. Attached hereto is a list of such equipment within
the Personnel Security and Investigations Directorate.

5. Two Uher Model 4000 tape units and three Norelco
Model 3542 tape units are utilized by the examiners to play
back tapes for the purpose of accurate report preparation.
6. For research purposes, the Branch has acquired
a Mark II Voice Analyzer which contains a cassette tape record-
ing device. This instrument is not being utilized at this time in
the routine security adjudication process. The potential of this
instrument is currently in the process of evaluation.
7. Please advise if we can be of further assistance in
this matter.
