Inter, 7rom 1913 to 1961, sot= charts from Uruguayan authors uere pub. %shed, but even if these charts constitute useful elements for consultations, they do not help to solve prob/ens of international limitso The chart made by the Institutes Geoaraphicos rilitores of Uruguay and Aroentina concerning the river Uruguay, which was nublished in 1949, marks portions of Urugueyan and Argentine territories including the river. This chart was made by aenon'notoara-etric means and originally at a scale of 1:30,000 and covered an area from Rio Cutrein to 10 Tnilometers south of the mouth of Arroyo Chapicuy Chico. Other In)ntions of both territories and Rio Uruguay over Paysandu and Rio negro are registered in air p,:otogranhical stereoscopic pairs to scales 1:20,000 and 1:33,000 respectively. Those were obtained by our Military Air Force in 1959 and 1960. As far as the hydrograntical cartography is concerned, the section there the Rio Urranny is registered is over two and one.helf centuries old.
