Sunny and comparatively warm throughout most of Bulgaria. Variable cloudi-
ness along the Black Sea coast. Light souteasterly winds. Temperature at 1400
hours, 13-18 degrees (all degrees centigrade); on Botev Vrukh, 4 degrees.
20 October (report)
Cloudy throughout Bulgaria. Temperature at 1400 hours, 12-16 degrees.
Decreasing cloudiness during the night, especially in eastern Bulgaria.
Minimum temperature, up to minus 2 degrees with frost in the valleys of central
Bulgaria; 2-6 degrees in the rest of Bulgaria.
Scattered and variable cloudiness during the day, especially in southwestern
Bulgaria and along the Black Sea coast. Fog in the morning. Maximum temperature,
13-16 degrees.
Mostly variable weather and cloudy throughout Bulgaria. Occasional
scattered clouds in southern Bulgaria. Light rain in the forenoon in central
and northern Bulgaria and in the central section of the Strums Valley. Light

19 degrees in Ruse, Gorna Oryakhovitea, and Lovech; 17 degrees in Pleven; and
13-16 degrees in other areas; 4 degrees on Botev Vrukh; and one degree on Cherni
Vrukh.

Cloudy throughout Bulgaria, scattered clouds in northern Bulgaria. Light
rains and fog in the morning in the Rhodope Mountains, the Thracian Plain, and
northwestern Bulgaria. Moderate easterly winds. Temperature at 1400 hours,
13-17 degrees.

Cloudy, but not cold, throughout most of Bulgaria. Considerable scattered
cloudiness only in southwestern Bulgaria and in central sections of northern
Bulgaria. Light rain in various areas during the night as well as during the
day. Moderate southeasterly winds. Temperature at 1400 hours, 13-19 degrees;
5 degrees on Botev Vrukh; 3 degrees on Cherni Vrukh; and one degree on Stalin
Mountain.

at noontime in areas north of the mountains. Light rain in the afternoon in
western sections. Light to moderate southeasterly winds during the night;
moderate to strong southeasterly winds during the day. Minimum temperature, 2-6

On 18 November 1951, at 1148 hours Eastern European time, seismographs of
the geodetic service registered the beginning of a powerful earthquake, the cen-
ter of which was about 8,200 kilometers from Sofia.
