now being operated by the people-owned factories of Zeiss and Schott in
Jena.

According to Herr Nelles, director of the Buns, Plant in Halle.. the
factory's peak production in 1943 has been exceeded by 20 percent.
Eellea states that in__e,_.inr ==-e- of chmists an engineers
from the Western Zones arr- applying for work at the plant.
Sizable quantities of the factory's output are being exported to
';zechoslovakia, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland. -
