By voluntary labor, the hydroelectric plant of Vasoau Ccsmme in Bihor Judet
h4d lean enlarged. Near the confluence of the Boiu and the Crisul-Negro, a no-j
building for the plant was erected and the millrace was enlarged. The mnohiasry
was purchaceQ in Arad using a loan of 5 million lei granted to the oousame byr the
State. 2astaliaion of machinery vas done from 25-31 December. Poles were placed,
wires. strung, and on 31 December the streets of Vaeoau were lighted by eleotricity
for the first time, A Diesel engine is expected soon and with it the powarrplant
will be able to furnish current to 12 towns: Col.esti, Izbuc, Calugar, Labia ad,
Ballet" de Yascan, Cristibrii d6'J6s,'Carpinet, Varzarii de Sus, Yarzarii de Joe,
Sarbestl, Sustiu,tand Camp,

population of Yoinesti Commune, Denbo?ita Judet. The "Prshova" Society iurajshed
the metal and peasant workerp of Inesti and Gemenes, the wood. Stringing of the
wires will begSn soon.

On 30 Deoember, the public institutions of Gilau Commune in Cluj Jndet were
provided with electricity. It is planned to extend the use of electricity to
houses of commune workers. Bunnerian and Rtmtanian worker, peasants united in
voluntary transporting and erecting of poles for the power lime.

Workers of the Sibiu Alectrical Plant have just completed two networks of
15,003 and 60,000 volts. The combined length of the two is over 100 kilometers.

plant. The waters of the Berzava River will be impounded by the Gozna Dem. When
coopleted, this new plant will furnish current required for planned production
increase at the Resita metallurgical plants.

formere, has just tested its first 11-horsepower electric -tor. Motors of this
type are urgently needed for the electrification of Bmnani_a industry and series

During January,.717 percent more methane gas was delivered to the city of
Bucharest than in December. Most of the increase was due to the recently ocmpleted
l4anesti-Bucharest gas line.
