at a time. On the northern side of the pier,, Soviet passenger ships moor.
At the head of the grain pier and on top of the grain elevator there is a
signal station (B)e It is a small house with a flagpole and it directs
the harbor traffic.
6. The oil, pier at D can accomodate one ship on the north and one ship on the
south aide, It has.no installations but in the center of the pier there is
a railroad track which joins the port railroad at B. The piping system is
under ground and only the outlets are above ground. At the pierhead there
are two fixed green lights (F)0 The pier is constructed of reenforced
.concrete and rests on pillars which are below the water line. It is
206 meters above the waters with a depth of 24 feet at the quayside. The
pier has wooden fenders and on the south side there are three water intakes.
Towards the shore end, of the pier,, on the south side there is a ladder (H).'
Four blocks of a destroyed pier are visible in the water,, near the stump
of the pier. The two outer blocks have fixed red lights on them.

At I there is a Navy pier which is a part of the docking basin used by
snail Soviet naval units (L). About 100 meters from the pierhead going
towards the shore there is a coast guard station (pictured in one of the
enclosed photographs). It is a onenstory building with a sentry box and
a signal mast (M) on top. were moored a
tugboat and a m.i esweepe.

18. There are no installations for harbor booms at the entrance. Nets for
harbor defense are stowed ashore at T. between the naval docking basin and
the oil. pier. The floats and buoys for supporting the nets were observed
near the nets.

21. At the coal pier (V) the coal is simply piled up. Installations consist
of four grab-bucket lifts on the east side and four on the west; there
was a ship on the west side.
22.. Immediately beside the coal wharf there was a small wharf (X); and next to
that,, a small shipyard for small craft.
23. To the right of the entrance at Z there were three wrecks aground, easily
visible above the water.
24, The grain elevator was a long and narrow structure which was covered. The
road from. the grain elevator on the pier to the railroad station was quite crooked.
25. Flanking the port area there was a seashore road.
26. RaMoad tracks were observed only on the oil piers though there may be some
on the grain pier. There were many tracks obseved at the railroad station.

and outside it. It is probably a shipyard for small craft.
12. Four small nun buoys to the right of the entrance. A little farther
on there was a mooring buoy[-
13. and 14. Two green beacon lights which constitute an alignment for
an alternate route which passes to the west of the_Penay Bank. The
beacon at 14 is fixed.
15. A raised and rusted storage tank, very near the green light at 14.
16. A large barrack which is surrounded by'a low wall and barely visible.
It is situated on the other side of the street just beyond the naval
docking basin. a group of naval units enter this basin 50X1-HUM
of the Navy unitete moor ere. To gain access to the street
from the docking basin area, one must pass through a gate guarded
by a sentinel.
