In reference to the policy paper on Information Processing
and ADP, I have drafted a revision which is attached. As you will note, I have
changed some of the wording to reflect more specifically the responsibilities of
OCS and those of the other Directorates. M y comments fall in the following areas :
Para 2. a. - - The change ties this paragraph down
to policy development and staff guitiance--electronic processing (ctm -
puting equipment). I changed this because each Directorate has
definite responsibilities for information pro sling activities and
this paragraph should relate to the topic at hand, namely, computer
applications.
Para 2. d. - ? This is changed to reflect OCS as
providing computer services support in the xarm of program assist-
ance and operating computer equiprent. A clear distinction is mace
here that "*problem analysis" is the responsibility of the Directorate
concerned--in the case of DD/S the functions of the ro>up.
These are the principal changes and I believe they more
accurately reflect the agreement reached with Colonel White in the meetings on this
subject.
