1. VIP Parkin Lot Ujdate: Effective 28 July l9gti
construction Tegan on the removal of curbing fron the VIP Lot
and Quadrangle area in front of the Headquarters Building. In
this process the sidewalk in front of the steps leadine into
the building is scheduled to be replaced. The work will be
completed in four phases and will take approximately one
month. Senior level officers assigned parking around the
Quadrangle were issued temporary permits to park in executive
areas in the same general location not affected by the
construction. Following are the tentative dates and areas in
sequence that are involved:
East Section of VIP Lot 28 July 2 August
West Section of VIP Lot 5 August 9 August
Perimeter Curbing Quadrangle 11 August 16 August
Auditorium and front entrance
curbing, including sidewalk
at the base of the front
entrance steps.
18 August 30 August
The contractor expects to return the final section of the
South Lot, lanes H through L, to the Agency on 15 August.
During the week of 11 August 1986, new parking permits will he
distributed to the appropriate administrative officers.
Facilities Management Division, OL, would like to express
appreciation to all employees who have been dislocated by the
repaving efforts. The cooperation demonstrated by those
employees has made a difficult job easier.

2. Route 123 Entrance: Although certificates of
completion wi not e istributed, participants in the new
defensive driving course, also known as the Route 123 entrance,
have been passing the course with flying colors. The patience
and cooperation of all employees who use the entrance is
appreciated. Recognition is given to the Federal Protective
Officers who have had to perform their duties coping with the
unusual traffic pattern during some of the hottest weather of
the summer.
The contractor is proceeding with construction of the
canopy over the roadway, trenching for installation of
utilities and preparing the road for repaving. The scheduled
completion date for the 123 entrance is set for mid-October.
After a two week interval, the contractor will proceed with
modifications to the George Washington Memorial Parkway
entrance.
