DDA Quarterly Office Objectives Briefing
The Trairiinc Officer contacted the Agency Handicapped
Coordinator, and advised him of the Office
of Medical Service s OMS , Car iopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR), and First-Aid training programs and how OMS can design
these programs for the handicapped employee, i.e., hearing
impaired, blind, etc,. At this time, OMS has conducted three
(3) CPR training courses for Agency hearing impaired employees.
TYie Training Officer was requested to provide a one-day
training exercise for the DDA/CT Program. This training has
been requested to be designed in such a manner as to keep
lecture sessions as brief as possible while taking advantage of
practical exercises that have a maximum amount of student
participation.
The essence of OMS' DDA/CT Training Program is to
familiarize the student on how OMS supports the Agency's
mission by providing clinical, psychiatrical/psychological
assessments, medical evacuations and specialized
treatment/counseling for-the employee and asset. The student
will have a broad knowledge on what OMS can provide to assist
operational and administrative medical requests. Agency
operatives, once more knowledgeable of OMS' capabilities, can
more effectively utilize OMS' skills to reach the Agency's
overall mission.
The Training Office continues with ongoing medical training
programs which have increased OMS' overall capabilities:
There have been 11 OMS personnel certified as ACLS providers
There have been 2 OMS personnel certified as ACLS Instructor
One OMS health professional is scheduled to
attend the Navy's Alcoholism Training Course located at
Bethesda, Maryland.
At this date, 10 OMS personnel have received training
at two military medical installations in advanced
medical procedures.
DDA/CT Program is completed and waiting for the first
class of students.
The OMS worldwide FELO orientation are in the final
editing stage. The videotaping should be completed in the
next quarter.

The 2'0 inquired into worldwide ULR posts. As a result of
this inquiry, OMS now has three posts with language
incentive pay.
The MSO applicant testing mechanism is now functional
and has enhanced OMS' selection process.
A graduated Paramedical Training program for foreign
medical personnel has been implemented. At this
time two classes have been instructed. This program is
designed to have several foreign languages, i.e., French,
Spanish, Arabic, etc., already packaged for OMS personnel
to respond to requested operational requests.
An intensive shock/trauma training program was devised
for Agency personnel who travel to remote or isolated areas
without benefit of a medical e, two
