THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFOR-
German Locomotive Column 1, handlinG, the soviet leave trainsp was originally
equipped with type 52 loc anotives, The column was re-equipped in January 1949
with type 01 locomotives furnished by the Erfurt railroad district, In April
1950 the German personnel were changed for Soviet personnel and the column
was merged with Soviet Locomotive Column No 42, then stationed in Frankfurt/
Oder, The German personnel of Locomotive Column No 1 were assigned other
railroad missions, Soviet Locomotive Column No 42 was equipped with German 50X1 -HUM
type 01 locomotives. the two locomotive columns imentioned
were equipped with 10 to 12 ocomo ves each but that only eight, instead of
the usual 11 men, were assi,;-ned to each brigade, Locomotive Column No 42 also
operates the Blue Expresso
2, The soviet leave trains operating between Frankfurt/Order and Brest Litovsk
are being run by Soviet Locomotive Column No 42, It is planned to have the
clue ',;xpress, previously run by Locomotive Column No 42, operated by German
personnel after 1 January 1951, The Soviet rai lroadmen mentioned that they
would presumably by transferred to the Leningrad area. Locomotive Column No 1
has been deactivated?
3, The glue express runnin ; from Perlin ildpark via Frankfurt/Oder to west
Litovsk is handled by Soviet Locomotive Column No 42,
It. The Clue Itaxpress and the "Soviet leave trains operating bettiTeen Frankfurt/Oder
and 3r.est Litovsk are run by Soviet Locomotive Column No l12. T'.Iis colu-M is
stationed in Frankfurt/Oder and Brest Litovsk, but elements of it are also
located in Seddin, *
Oomment, The trains concerned are the pair of Soviet express trains
opera C Ta~Sy between Berlin and Brest Litovsk via Frankfurt/oder and tine 50X1-HUM
two pairs of leave trains operating daily between 1t'rankfurt/Oiler and 3r.est .
Litovsk, One pair of leave trains will be cancelled if they are not required.
