to Vinkovci exploded approximately 10 kilometers from the railroad staticn of
Strizivojna-Vrpolje, The train consisted of approximately 70 freight ca: a, 7
of id,. ich contained naphtha.
The locomotive was completely destroyed by the explosion and the freight cars
were all damaged. Of the 8 railroad men aboard the train, 7 were killed and 1
is seriously injured.
3. The track at the scene of the accident was quickly repaired and cleared of
obstacles and, on S June at U a.m., a special train in three sections carrying
I rshel Tito and his entourage passed through the sector. The first carried
a omit of Tito guards and automobiles, the second carried Tito and an arz4.ed
guard, aid the third carried a unit of Tito guards armed with heavy weapons.

of about 1,400 tons, ihiich wag tooeroat a load for its axle capacity and, as
a result of the strain, a wheel of the locomotive split and broke. This factor,
the excessive speed and inattention on the part of the engineer to the nanorioter
are presur:ed to have brought about the explosion. The engineer allegedly knew
the track would be closed just before Tito?s passage, and it is believed he was
travelling at great speed in an effort to clear the area of traffic on tine.
