MAKE SHIPMENT TO GES BUILDERS -- Vil'nyus, Sovetskaya Litva, 21 May 52
The Chelyabinsk Machinery Plant of the Ministry of Electric Power Stations
has shipped three heavy cranes to the site of the Kakhovka GES.
CRANE FEATURES WALKING MECHANISM -- Leningradekaya Pravda, 1 Aug 52
The Moscow Severyanin Machinery Plant has built an experimental model of
a new construction crane which features a walking mechanism consisting of a
reinforced-concrete plate flanked by a pair of steel shoes. The plate and shoes
are advanced, one after the other, by an electric motor moving the crane ahead
at a speed of 6 meters per minute. The crane can lift weights of up to 3 tons
as high as three stories.
MEET ORDER EARLY -- Moscow, Vechernyaya Moskva, 19 Jul 52
The Moscow Krasnyy Blok Plant completed its order from the Kuybyshev GzS
builders ahead of schedule, shipping them over 50 hoisting mechanisms. Many
other hoists from the plant may be found at the sited of the Stalingrad and the
Kakhovka GFS projects.
CONTRIBUTE BELT CONVEYERS -- Moscow, Trud, 22 Jul 52
During this year, the Alma-Ata Machinery Plant of the Ministry of Electric
Power Stations has seat the builders of the Kakhovka OES and the Main Turkmen
Canal 100 stationary belt conveyers.

The Moscow Kraenyy Metallist Plant has taken the lead in the socialist com-
petition among heavy-machine-building enterprises for th! second time this y^ar.
The plant now takes 50 percent less time to build one telpher than it did
in 1950. Welding steps have been eliminated in the manufacture of the telpher's
trolley, which is now 16 kilograms lighter than it was.
