Bannerman reports that as of 30 October the Air Force has changed its policy regarding Top Secret clearances for Air Force personnel. All such clearances will now have a full OSI background investigation as well as National Agency Name Checks. Previously, only the name checks and 10 years of military service were required for Top Secret clearances. 3. The Security Chief in the FAA has written Mr. McCone saying that it is reported that I Icrashe in Uuba during hurricane Flora. One is said to be dead and the other a prisoner. FAA wants any info we may have. =as been asked to prepare a response. At the moment we have no other info. 4. Larry Houston has recommended to the DCI that we not write to Russell and Saltonstall about the Executive Pay status until we see what the Rules Committee does in the House. In the event amendments are prohibited in the House, Larry recommends we then immediately alert Russell and Saltonstall and appropriate members of the Senate Post Office and Civil Service Committee. atactt UI the various USIB committees asking a variety of questions about the work of the committees, particularly with respect to PNIO's.
