Bul?,:sia has impartent deposits of coppery area, iron which cuppor has
been o}cained for decades. Only black copper, also called copper matte, w.~
produced in Bulgaria. So nee this copper far industrial purgoses, it vas
aeesssary to sand it out of the countrg far processing and chemical puriP.ica-
tlon. Although the inetallatioaa and equipment involved in the purificetiion
of copper ~-e a;.eag na3 simple, and sl+hcugh the technological principles
n~.oa'7,ying the process are tsell >mow, such production had not been underta'sen
until now, and all attempts in that direction had been reJected.
The production of electrolytic copper was begun daring 1951. The tech-
nicians sad eaginears of "Elprom," under the leadership of the technical di-
rector, Rngineer %anol Gyudzhenov, early this year concluded a caatract with
the "llachinostroeae" State Industrial Combine for the reconditioning aildti.
