It is planned to fill the TIC position of Cho-mieal Advisor to the Chief,
Chemistry. Divis_on/sI, but it will take some tire to recruit the type of
individual that is needed. The use of as a consultant for 25X1
five days a month la necessary in order to rO.n .. ze the lo --s to the
Chenistry Division of his cervices, which have been outstanding, and to
provide for a continuity of operations when a suitable roylacement is
obtained. It is then planned to reduce the amount of time to one or two
days per month as soon as possible. Travel expenses will be kept to a

are such that we could expect to pay C50 per day for his services and would
have done so if he 1a:-A been appointed originally as a consultant. During
the course of his service with this office, he has acquired an additional
knowledge of intelligence problems and the intelligence process that is
rarely found in the usual consultant, wx-o has been appointed primarily
for his substantive knowledge. Were it not for reasons of health,
would continue in his present position,
