THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION SOVIET EXPLOITATION OF SATELLITES; OPPRESSIVE MEASURES SATELLITE PORTS, SHIPS USED FOR SOVIET ACTIVITIES -- Istanbul, Vatan, 18 Mar 53 Belgrade, 17 March -- According to reports received in Belgrade, Albanian ports have peen converted into bases for Soviet smuggling activities in the Mediterranean. In recent days, especially, there has been much ship movement between Albania and the USSR. Soviet yr Satellite ships are taking on loads not only of locally manufactured and raw products such as copper, chrome, and oil, but also manufactured goods imported into Albania from the West. For example, recently the Rumanian ship Berezina carried to the USSR more than 800 tone of automobile spare parts and various types of military equipment, while a Bulgarian ship carried about 60 military trucks and various machinery spare parts. It is believed that this material was purchased in Western countries by Soviet agents. Those who exceed their limit pay large fines and risk having their electricity cut off. These measures were brought about by the worsening economic situation and by the decreasing coal production, as s result of, according to official propaganda, "imperialistic activities in the mines." FUMANIAN PROVINCE TO BECOME SOVIET COLONY -- Istanbul, Cumhuriyet, 14 Apr 53 Vienna, 13 April (Nafen) -- The Soviets have taken measures to make a "little Russia" out of Dobruja. The Rumanian government is reported to have prepared a plan providing for the expulsion of all Germans in Rumania; then, Rumanians from Dobruja will be settled in their places, while colonies from the USSR will be settled in Dobruja. RUMANIAN RESIDENTIAL SECTIONS EVACUATED -- Athens, Le Measager d'Athenes~ 26 Mar 53 The houses in the areas around Bonaparte Park and Filipescu Park in Bucharest have been completely evacuated by their owners or residents.
