BOLDESTI OIL WELL WORKERS SET EXAMPLE IN USING SOVIET METHODS -- Bucharest,
Scanteia, 28 Nov 52
Oil well drillers who initiated the expansion of Soviet methods at the
Sovrompetrol-Boldesti oil field are exceeding production. Red banners have
been hoisted at all points of the oil field, on highways leading to wells,
at boilers, and in reservoir parks. Loud-speakers announce results of the
competition output constantly.
Technical discussions for the popularization and application of Soviet
methods were held by the workers. Hundieda of drillers, foremen, and bri-
gade leaders discussed the details outlined by engineers. They requested
the oil well management to create the best possible technical and organiza-
tional conditions for expansion of the use of Soviet methods.
At meetings held at every working unit and oil well, workers undertook
concrete obligations to apply Soviet methods at their working stations. In
a short time, the example was followed by hundreds of petroleum workers
and technicians of the entire Boldesti oil field.
Experimental work developed with enthusiasm in every production sector.
Such experimental methods as intensive high-speed drilling, single-column
tubing, technological study of wells, and acidation and chemical treatment
gave exceptionally good results.
Each production sector of the oil field began applying the Soviet Kot-
lyar method a,. well as other Soviet methods. More than 100 qualification
contracts were signed in the drilling and extraction sectors alone. Fur-
thermore, 456 drillers, foremen, and brigade leaders successfully applied
the Soviet Voroshin method in November 1952.

Technicians and workers of Ploesti Reguine oil fields enthusiastically
acknowledged the initiative taken by geologists at Trust No 1, Sovrom-
petrol-Campina, Ploesti Regiune. These geologists volunteered to give as-
sistance in reactivating abandoned oil wells. Numerous discussions and
meetings were held to solve problems connected with this.
Eighteen wells were returned to production at 3aicoi and Tintea, which
belong to Trust No 1, Sovrompetrol-Camping. Brigades headed by Alexandru
Dogaru, Ion Viziru, and Gheorghe Barliga performed exceptional work in this
assignment. Furthermore, 14 wells were restored to operation at Trust No 2,
Sovrompetrol-Morena. The engineers and technicians collective at Gura-
Ocnitei studied carefully the potentialities of the oil field and pledged
to return many wells to production.
At the same time, production of old oil fields was improved considerably.
For examp].P, the crude petroleum extraction quota for the Baicoi oil field
was fulfilled 100.3 percent by 25 October 1952. Likewise, the Tintea and
Camping oil fields exceeded their quotas.
