Wind motors are widely used throughout the Ukraine and in Rostov Oblast.
They are used on kolkhozee and sovkhozes for raising well water, even where gen-
erators have been installed.
Most of the wind motors in Estonian SSR are old, imported models, and it
is time for the kolkhozes to install new machines of domestic make.
The person Plant of the Main Administration of Agricultural Machine Build-
ing puts out three suitable types: the TV-5, which bac an 18-blade, 5-meter-
diameter wind wheel, and can raise water to a height of 75-80 meters, working
with a cylinder puma; the TV-8, which has a 24-blade, 8-meter-diameter wind
wheel, and can be coupled with a cylinder pump to raise well water to a height
of 100 meters; and the VD -D-12 machine, which has a 12-meter-diameter wind
wheel of two to three blades, and is designed i.o run a generator.
The Semipalatinsk Machinery Plant of the Ministry of Local Industry Kazakh
SSR has begun series production of wind motors designed by the Kazakhstan
Affiliate of the All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences imeni Lenin. Cou-
pled with pumps, the motors can raise water from wells 50 meters deep and will
be used for watering cattle on the range.
In observation of May Day, the Andizhan Strommashina Plant is striving to
exceed its April plan for the production of T-62 diesel motors.
