The Engel's Trolley Bus Plant lmeni Uritskiy recently shipped trolley
busses to Leningrad, rrunze, Vladimir, Kuybyshev, Hake; and Alma-Ata. In less
than 5 m;,ntha cf 19531 the plant has turned nut 42 more trolley busses than it
did in the corresponding period o: 1952.

The Ministry of Automobile Transport Belorussian SSR has orr;anized the pro-
duction of new, more comfortable bus bo~iiu:: for the GZA-~i chasr.is. The Borisov
Automobile Repair Plant took an active part in des.igaing the n~> model, and has
already turned out the first eight bodies. The mi.:-.istr;' is ~rgauizing series
pro~.uctiou of the new bus bodies.

The Moscow Scientific Research Institute for Automobile Instruments has
3eveloped an alternating-current generator far the ZIS-155 bus. The new generator
and its selenium rectifier weigh 3 .7 kilograms, as compared to a weight of more
thaw 60 kilograms for the old direct-current generator. The neu generator re-
quires only 2.5 kilograms of copper as compared to 15 ki;.og:ams for the old oa.e,
Lengthy tests hsve shown that the new generators require one sixth ae malty repairs
as the old ant are gencr:.lly mere r;.liable.

In 1952, one Leningrad Garage did not race?ve a single oil filter for G.4Z-
5). and ZIS-5 trucks. Many other !;ruck management.: ox' L~ni~gral and Leningraia-
skaya Oblast have been short of oil filters for years. :nd ir. 1952 received oni.y

one fifth of their filter requirements. The Oblast administration of Glavneft-
esbyt (Main Administration of Petroleum Sales), the Automobile Transport Admin-
istration, State Automobile Inspection, and othar organizations have been con-
cerned about the filter situation fo:? a long time.
At the end of 1952, the Ministry of Petroleum Industry USSR authorized funds
for the production of filters by a city combine, which rras to produce 500,000
filters yearly. However, production never began because the combine was unable
to secure the space necessary for the production of filters.

The Tashkent Avtotraktorodetal' Plant has .lilfilled its ,;ross output plan
for the first k months of 1953 by 105.6 percent, and .its commodity output plan
for the snore period by L3.5 percent. The plant e::ceeded its production plan
for April by 22 percent.

The Leningrad Carburetor Plant imeni V. V. Kuybyshev produces tens of
thousands of spark plugs daily.
Almost half the parts turned out uy the plant arc machined on automatic
machine tools.
The present output rate of fuel injectors is 1.5 times that of 1952. The
present output rate of spare parts for injectors is t}u?ee times tl?9t of 1952.

Uicycles, which have eight speeds and can atwin speeds up to 60 kilometers per
hour. The plant has also organized the series production oi' V-63 racing bicycles.
