W Report No. 239 4 January 1960
1. Tests Performed
The R..19 equipments were submitted to several tests. They
included measuring the transmitter power output and frequency, measur-
ing the receiver 20 db quieting sensitivity and receiving frequency,
and an "operational" check of the entire system. The "operational"
tests included connecting the individual transmitter to the antenna
and coupling a smell amount of the signal to the receiver. The trans-
mitter was then checked for both tone and voice modulation by both the
self contained controls and the remote control. The receiver squelch
control and audio output (to earphones) were checked. The retransmitter
andl receiver were than checked.
See Table 1, page 2.
3. Conclusions
Receiver number eight has been sent back to the manufacturer
for realignment. It is suggested that system number four be sent back
to the manufacturer to eliminate the spurious audio tone. Receiver
number three should also be returned so that the test point circuitry
can be repaired and unit can be realigned.
