SUBJECT: ED 79, Task 7 - Test Bench Junction Box Cables

1. The g of this contract called for the,
delivery from of certain cables and fittings to 25X1
be included in the configuration of the test bench Junction box.
These fittings (MP 63004, 63005, d '.6996 ll not be
available as planned. This requires to complete 25X1
the junction box cables in -their entirety.
2. Tt is therefore, requested that you obtain a proposal

from for the substitute cables. This proposal
should nc u provisions for:
(a) An increase in cable length from 32.5 to 69 inches.
An additional cable branch to permit test bench
injection of an external reference oscillator s: al
to the reference track of the recorder.
(c) Additional shielding to insure the maximum accuracy
of test procedures by protection against stray noise
pick up.
3. An additional requirement was levied on this office on
22 October 1956 by the field representatives of the consuming project.
It has been requested that an alert system consisting of signer2 lights
be included in this collection system. The intent of this system is
to alert the ECM operators manning tunable equipments to the presence of
signs,s without the spectrum. A system of similar characteristics Is
then included in the M-7 program, and may be used as a pattern.
4. It is recoMized that inclusion of such a provision will
increase the scope and modify the present costs of RD-79; however,
it is necessary. should be informed of this new 25X1
requirement with the understanding that this is to be an additional
