and Fangchaeng (10823, 21-/.6)1 region in southern Lwangtung vas not included in the
defense zones, but was con;5idered in a plan for aid to the Democratic Republic of
Vietnam. The basic troops to be employed in such a defense system were to be part
of the 10 Army Group of the 3 Field Army (FA) and the 15 Army Group of the 4 FAR
assisted by all militia units in the province. In the 1 War Defense Zone the comman-
der was YEH Chien-ying, and the deputy coders were TENG Rua (6772/5478) and
YEFI Fei (5509, 7378)0

the Swangtung Military District Coed was the supreme military
administrative organ in Hwangtungo Aside ft em Hainan Island, which was under the
Chaiungyai administrative zone, Kwangtung was divided into nine military sub-districts,
which commanded their militia units and ,candled all military administrative details
as follows
