THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. (FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) 11 S_I Lankow site At map reference UTM PE 575468 (about 2 kms due NW of Schwerin town center) a large tower was seen and photographedon 18 August 1954. It was estimated by eye to be about 40 m high. It was by no means clear whether it was really an electronic installation; it was thought possible that it might be merely some kind of pumping tower. 2. The Schwerin radio site is situated on Moewenburg Strasse at point PE 603473. It is spoken of locally as the Schwerin-Woebbelin site, and is said to be 1nL ' contaot:iwith a similar site at Woebbelin(point PE 6720). The mast was estimated by eye to be about 100 m high and was photographed on 18 August 1954. 3. Schwerin-Neumuehlee water tower and nearby building a. Two paraboloid aerials were seen and photographed on the water tower on the 86-m high hill just outside Schwerin at point UTM 570454; this was on 18 August 1954. The tower, est .mated by eyetAGbe..,*?91t RQ m;_h:i.gh, Was photographed from the southeast. One,then seemed to be looking almost right into one of the paraboloids; the other was seen from the side and seemed to be pointing west-southwest. Unfortunately, it was not possible to walk all round the tower. b. About 150 m from the tower was a large building which looked new. The cross pieces appeared to point in the same directions as the paraboloids (sic). A man in uniform was seen near this building; from. a distance, it was impossible to tell what his uniform was, Ruhn site a. On the highest point of the Ruhn Mountains (178 mat point FE 937095) there is an observation tower, the Friedrich-Hildebrandt-Turm, which is closed to visitors. About 1700,,A, south-southwest of this highest point there is a tall mast with two peraboloida, This is just north of the road, in a clearing of the Woods, at point PE 932079. Tt was photographed on 19 August 1954. One paraboloid appeared to point to Schwerin and the other to be at 180? to it. The tower was estimated by eye to be about 100 m high. At the foot of the mast there are an unstated number of small barrack-like buildings.
