At 0805 hours on 29 May 1954 while ship was enroute to Leningrad a naval vessel was observed at position N 58-20 E 20-00 proceeding,at high speed on a northerly course. ribed th.evessel as. having one gun on the foredeck, a mast aft of the bridge, a slanted stack, a short aftermast , and one gun on the afterdeck. 2. At 1050 hours on 29 Maya naval vessel of the same type as that described (See :ketch No. 1). This vesse ~a -engaged in an exercise with a larger vessel (See Sketch No. 2). Both vessels disappeared in a northerly direction. 3. On 307May a naval vessel of the same type was observed in Kronshtadt Harbor. 4. At 0900 hours on 31 May, 4 naval vessel ,,,7 tb t}ic name MINSK painted on the, stern frame was observed towed up the canal in Leningrad.1,2 A submarine was towed down the canal by two tug boats. The submarine was longer than ship,which was 265 feet overall. (See Sketch No. 3) 5. On 4 ge two naval vessels passed ship at a great distance. (See Sketch No. 4). On the afterdeck there appeared to be two white 25X1 deckhouses or containers. 6. At 1900 hours on 4 June, at a position eight nnuticnl miles north of Seyskari Island (N 60-02, E 28-23) eight submarines were observed proceeds line formation.
