There was a 2/10 overcast, southwesterly wind of 5 km/h and good visibility. Atout 1430, all the -G-15s except for four were canvas-covered. Shortly afterwards also the remaining four FIG.-15s were covered with tarpaulins. After 2000, the noise of ng p s on engines was heard from the field. Beginning at 2100 there was air activity by 3 Yak-lls which were parked in line with the signboard indi- cating the boundary of the town. One motile flight control station (bus), 1 tank truck, i signa.l truck, 3 van-like trucks, and 1 jeep were parked west of the take-off point, In clear weather, the following take-offs and landings were observed beinti Tiede in north-south direction, 2107 2103 2130 2122 2145 2148 The aircraft taxied to a point in line with the mobile flight control station from which the starting signal was given by r.?eens of a small searchlight, which directed its beam in the direction of the take-off strip until the air- craft became airborne. The aircraft flew through the gap in the southern row of searchlights which as well as the northern row of searchlights permanently radiated a red light. The aircraft then flew es far as Katzeldorf where they turned to the north vie. east and landed after 18 to 20 minutes. While crossing over the northern row of searchlights, a small white searchlight fitted under the fuselage of the aircraft flashed up directing its teem to thee-grarnmd. r? The lending strip w s not illuminated as usual during air activity with MG-15s. After landing, the aircraft were towed to the take-off point by trucks. The antenna rest with cone-shaped tracings previously observed in the depressiLn netr the pyrotechnics plant was reroved. Fetween 0730 and 1200 on 19 June, Wiener Neustadt airfield was occupied as on the preceding day. There was no flying. with e driver wearing black-bordered blue epaulets proceeded toward the field. 5. Truck I with a driver wearing black-'ordered blue epaulets entered the yard of the Nachrichten Kaserne in Wiener Neustadt. Eight 37-mm AA guns were seen in the cantonment west of Viener i4eustadt.3 The 22 trucks seen in the sheds included 6 which were jecked up. Truck 0 parked in front of the camp.
