4 The Com .st.-controlled Comision Espanola de Pas has been making aet ,
preparations for a conference of Spanish Republicans, reportedly to be
held in Montevideo on 22-21 August 1952. Within, the general purpose of
further advancing the Co3mmmist Pro-Peace campaign, 'the principal aim
of the conference will be to raise the morale and numbers of the local
Pro-Pease workers and supporters? A dominant note . of. the conference is
to-be an attack on the United States' 'warmongering,, oppression and
exploitation" throughout the world, partioularl r in Spain.l
20 Conference workers are sending out a total of 15,1300 invitations,. 500 of
