The primary task of Interpretation is to distinguish the boundaries of natural complexes on the pl-otographs. This is accomplished in two stages. At first the areas characterized by different types of Images are outlined. Individual natural com- plexes have specific morphological features anti can be recognized by the character of t.ic Images on the aerial photogrnphs. Then the final and reliable interpretation of the boundaries of the natural complexes is done during field (marine and water (living) investigations. Details of the structure of the underwater vegetation within natural complexes, ecotopes, revealed by aerial photographs, arc studied directly on the marine bottom by diving. Tne purpose of the underwater investigations Is to learn the characteristics of the phytocenoses, to describe the environmental conditions, and reveal the patterns in the distribution of the phytocenoses. Three motliods of undprwater work are recommended: 1) the investigated body of water is covered with n lwtwfirk or stations which are scattered or arranged in rows along certain routes. Experiments on proton decay of radioactive nuclei, using the internal beam of the heavy-ion cyclotron of OlYal, are described and data are presented on two types of proton emitters obtained by bombarding nickel with beams of Ne20 and 016. The first (one of the light isotopes of neon or magnesium) has a half-life Card 1/5 A--'9SSION NR: AP4043611 (65 + 15) X 10- 3 see and emits protons with energy 5 + 0.2 MeV. The second has a half-life 23 + 4 sec and emits protons with energy 2.5 + 0.2 MeV.
