Abstract On the basis of the works of Post, Teller, Thampson) and
others (Referat Zhur Fizik-a, 1957, No 6, 13628; No 9,
22203; 1958, No 1, 538) the authors have examined the pos-
sibility of a stationary state of a plasma containing deu-
terium and tritium. 11he calculations were carried out for
the case of a spherical volume of plasma at a constant vol-
ume. In addition, the authors start out with a whole series
of other simplifying assumptions, such as that the composi-
tion of the gas does not change, the distribution of the
velocities is Maxwellian the absorption of radiation is small,
etc. The temperature at the center of the plasma is chosen to
be equal to the temperature of the maximum energy of the

products of thermonuclear reaction. Here the temperature
of the external uallB is maintained at several thousand
degrees. In spite of the fact that the dimensions of the
reactor are such that it is realizable under terrestrial
conditions, nevertheless it is admitted that it is possible
to construct.

ABSTRACT: Two formulae are developed for determining the dynamic
forces acting during hoisting and lowering operations.
The basic formula Is (1) P M J, where M is the mass
of the string of pipes and the acceleration. it is
usually assumed that the string of pipes constitutes an
absolutely rigid body And no additional vibration force
(elongation and contraction) is considered. The author
calculates what that additional force is, namely (2)

friction the vibration is quickly dampened and the value

ABSTRAM. With the ouvette arrangt ient hitherto employed it was necessary,
when taking out the cuvettes, to touch the optical surfaces with
one's fingers, by which measuring results could be influenced.
Taking out the cuvetteB from the side was rendered difficult be-
cause of the little play existing between cuvette and holder, and
besides the spring leaf holding the cavette in its place had cur-
vatureB which hindered manipulation. The construction demoribed
is made from duralumin and is shown by an illustration. The hold-
ing surfaces for the cavette are arranged at an angle of 1200 with
respect to each other, and each of them is provided in front with
a fastening device consisting of a clamp and a spring. The clamp
is covered with flanel on the surface holding the cuvette. The
holder is provided with three fastening screws which hold the
Card 1/2 fixing ring. The ouvette is exchanged by pressing down the end of

the clamp. When exchanging the clamp holder of old construction
for the one described it is necessary first to mount the

Abstract : In experiments on rabbits largaktil changed in a variety of
ways the intensity and character of epileptoid attacks, in-
duced by cardiasol, pyrBmidon., and atabrine, while it exerted
no substantial influence on the attack, induced by picrotoxin.
The authors explained this by the variety in the pathogenesis
of the attacks. Since the anticonvulsive actio" of largaktil
manifests itself chiefly in the philogenetic inhibitions of
the very youngest divisions of the central nervous system, the
lack of largaktil effect on the picrotoxin induced attack is
explained hypothetically by the wide range and the peculiar
intensity of picrotoxin action on the central nervous system.

Report on 6 cases of bromide psychoses, 3of them from one family. The symptoms
could be divided in three groups. The first group consists of the ordinary signs of
bromism, i.e. disturbances of coordination and general mental confusion. The
second group was composed of cases showing the signs of mental confusion and
oneiriern. Paranoid forms, which manifest thernoelves during full consciousness
.Land withott hallucinations, make up the third group. One of the cases died in a
severely confused state and oneirism, changing into coma. A second patient, who
also suffered from a confusional syndrome, psychomotor disturbances and Inco-
herency, recovered. The third one showed schizophrenic psychoses accompanied
by paranoid symptoms. A leucacytools was seen in all, along with changes In the
blood picture, as well as albuminocytological dissociation In the CSF. Pupillary
disturbances. ptosis and severe dysarthric conditions were observed as neurologic-
al symptom*. In one case pyramidal signs were present. The cases of mental con-
fu lion and oneirism were accompanied by hallucinations. In a few cases the re-
duplication of the hallucinatory pictures. as well as the participation of the vestibul-
ar analysore in the hallucinatory emotions could be observed. On the basis of
Pavlov's pathological mechanism& It in possible to differentiate and re-unite the

ation. The coma develops dramatically witb initial convulsions (decerebr~t.~.
state) and autonomic p-henomena, or with -initial epilept' -, seizures. In
the decerebration rigidity was permanent and grave. T4o of these case,
in death and shoved bilateral symmetrical necrosis of the putamen. In f,
cases the decerebration phenomena occu--red as attacks. Only in one ca.rc '(th~:
youngest patient (1 year and 7 months old) the decerebration rigidity wa; no~-.
manifest and replaced by an athetous- and tor-sicxjystonic syndrome

Abstract: In this paper presented in a somewhat expanded form on 15 Doc 1965
to the joint session of the Presidium of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
(BAB) and the Scientific-Hedical Council (814C) at the Rinistry of Popular
Health and Social Welfare (NPHSW), the authors discuss in consideroble length
1) the past guidance of the medical sciences by the SMO at the I-THiW - its
success and shorcomings; 2) the Department of Modical Scionces at the BAB
(Institute of MornholoE-y, Physiology,and Food, Central Laboratory for the
Problems of Reroneraticn, 6ciGntific Groups for the study of epilepsy,
hypertension, diabetes, and bone tumor) and 3) the prospects for the future
development of the Dopartmont of Modicnl Sciences (improvements in the medical
practice, medical virology, clinical biochemistry and enzymology, allorgology,
expetimental pharmacology and chemotherapy, experimental surgery, treatment
of central nervous system, and hygiene). The article proposes the creation
of several laboratories and problem groups. No references.
