TEXT: A brief explanatory note on disturbances in radio propagation due to
abnormal solar activity, such as the Dellinger effect, sporadic E-ionization, etc.
Further, the criteria of MUF (Maximum usable frequency) and LUF (lowest useful high
frequency) are explained in general words. The author introduced a 9-code radio-
communication index for use by the Stacja Jonosferyczna Warszawa-Migdzeszyn (Iono---
pheric Station, Warszawa-Migdzeszr), where the numeral I indicates useless and 9
excellent propagation conditions Abstracter's hote: The code is old practice with,
the U.S. National Bureau of Standards radio stations WWV at Beltsville, Maryland,
and WWVH on Maui, Hawaii; a similar inverted code (0 = excellent, 9 = useless) Is

MAT: The uniform-sun model gives theoretical electron densities at

February 15, 1961. A "pitted" model consisting of a uniformly radiating disc
with several suitable sources of intepee Jo-nizipg radiation siveG (for effQctive

fairly good agreement with the exprrimental points. Her author shows that
Ratcliffe's objection CRef-5: Ratcliffe J.A. Solar Ec ipsos and the Ionosphere,
London 1956J to intense ionization sources on grounds of the absence of day-to-
day variations in the E-layer ionization as a result of solar rotation and
disappearance of the hypothetical sources behind the limb does not hold for a

the solar surface. The daily critical frequency variation of the control days
median in the hours corresponding to the eclipse period accords vith the

Abstract: For an Indirect determination of the molecular weight Qf
amines picric acid (I) is used to separate from their alco-
hol-, benzene- or water solutions, the picrates (II) wbich
are filtered off and recrystallized. 150-300 me 11 aror
dissolved in 10 ml glacial acetic acid (III), or of its mix-
ture with acetic anhy&-ide, and ara titrated, to a green co-
loration, with 0.1 N solution of HC104 in III, in the presence
of one drop of an 0.5% solution of methyl violet in III. As
a cmponent of 31 the I does not exhibit itiB acidic properties
in a medium of III. Tge method has been verified vith pyridine,

TEXT: The authors review the production history of the Wielkopolska Fabryka
Urzadzefi Mechanicznych "Wiepofama" (Wielkopolska Mechanical Equipment Plant, "Wie-
pofama") in Poznafi, they describe the products before tind after W II. The first
two turning lathes produced after WW II were the TP-225 and the TU-210, which were
followed by the TR-45 whose documentation was supplied by the Fabryka Urzadzefi Me-
chanicznych Poreba (Mechanical Equipment Plant Foreba). The demand for th'e TR-45
turning lathe grew in the following years and the production of the TP-225 and the
TU-210 was transferred to other plants. During 1950 - 55, the plant was expanded
and during 1952 - 54, in spite of small production space, the plant employing 800
workers produced 500 turning machines annually. In 1953, production was started
of the copying lathe Type TGA-18 capable of machining shafts 180-mm in diameter and
1,000-mm long. Series production of the above type was done by the Fabryka Urzadzeh
