Title A Contribution to the Theory of Neutron Reactions.

Abstract The cross sectim of scattering of neutrons by nuclei is calculated
with the aid of an optical model in which the potential has a diffuse
boundary. It is proposed that the potential diminishes linearly in the
diffuse-boundary region. The dependence of the results on the choice
of the depth of the potential well, on the width of the diffuse boundary,
and on the size of the imaginary part of the potential -was investigated.

The importance of treatment of occupational diseases in health resorts is empha-
sized. Diseases treated in the health resorts are enumerated and data about patho-
logical cases treated presented. Diseases of the locomotor system (rheumatism,
post-traumatic states) amount to 50% of the total. Diseases of the circulatory
system are second (17516),' those of the digestive system third (I IT*) and diseases of
the respiratory system (tb excluded) fourth (10%). The still existing drawbacks in
the work of Polish health resorts are discussed and the long-term plan announced
providing thc outlines of a considerable modernization.
