The deposits of the greisen type are without. interest with respeot to the indium tenor. All together 2500 indium anaiyses were carried out; the polarographic determinations by A. A. The formation of wolframii;e-cassiterite are, in this consideration, most interesting. A revie7 of the publications on such scandium concentrations is given (Refs 1-4). In 1955 the authors found scandium in quartz-tin-tungsten veins of the granite massif of the Polousnyy Ratige. With respect to the genesis and mineralogical-geochemical characteristics, these occurrences have much in common with those of Ziiinwald (Erz- gebirge). "he massif in concern in described. Scandium war, found in wolfra-mite, cassitc-rile, and zinnwaldite (Table 1, Figs 1.-3).. The chemical analysis (analysist: S. N. Feaorchak,) qhows, after adapting to the chemical formula, that huebnerite molecules predominate over ferberite molecules. The minimum amount 6f Sc 203 in wolframite was,O-OZu, the maximum,-O.1~, the average 0,07'/"j- Noteworthy amounts of niobium (-,O,2~) and titanium (up to 0.0%So' TiO 2) ..Were also found in all the samples. In individual sample tantalum was found. The scandium content is also given for the two other minerals in which it is found. There are 3 fi&ares, 1 table, and 4 references, 2 of which are Soviet.
