Abstract :of 450 animals '-affected by various noninfectiouadiseases,
changes of venous .and arterial pressure were observed in 125
of them. The measurement of the arterial pressure was ef-
fected by an oscillograph and that of venouS pressure by a
water pressure gauge. In the initial stage of the develolpment
of colics (acute dilatation of the stomach, obstruction of the
rectum, meteorism), the arterial pressure increased and the
venous pressure remained unchanged. In the looping of the
colon, the venous pressure decreased sharply, and arterial
pressure remained unchanged. In peritonitis and gangrenous
pneumonia of horses, the arterial pressure increased and the
