TITLE: Compacting Flows of Raw Coal

ABSTRACT: Previously steam was used at the Chelyabinsk TPTS for
compacting the flow of coal dust coming out of the
crusher. Tgechanic S.P. rfrokhovskiy sus-!-,ested a mechR-
nism for compacting the flow of coal dust to the con-
veyer as shown by a rliagrnm. Tine coal diist prnsirg
thru the tube acts on a lever connected to a flap Rt
the tube outlet. The flap at the tube outlet is closed
by the load of a weight, if the nmourt of coal in the
tube decreases. The tube is enlnrged at the outle-'C'
A certain amount of coal dust is stored in this en-
larged section and is used for balancing fluctuamiors
of the coal dust flow in the upper part of the feed

ABSTRACT; This brief note describes the way in which the fuel-oil
pump-room of the Chelyabinsk Forge and Press Works (Chelyabinskiy
kuznechno-pressovoy zavod) was made automatic. When the
pressure alters in the fuel-oil pressure line, there is a change
in the pressure of transformer oil in a tank which operates a
membrane-type pressure-regulator. For purposes of remote
control of fuel-oil pressure and temperature, a contact mano-
meter and light-signal is installed. The oil-pressure instal-
lation that deliverR oil to the regulator operates at a
pressure of 6 kg/cm4 with an output of 14 litres/min. It is
driven by a motor of 0.8 kW. The total cost of making the
pump room automatic was aborut 1 600 roubles and it has been
operating reliably unattended for more than a year.

ABSTRACT: Presently, electrolysis equipment producing hydrogen
for generator cooling is being installed at many po-
wer plants. These installations have also a high con-
sumption of oxygen (8 - 40 containers daily) for rou-
tine repairs in the boiler and turbine houses. Tre-
quently, the required oxygen must be transported over
considerable distances (up to 100 km). During the past
-two years, at one of the power plants of "Chelyabener-
go" the oxygen from the electrolysis plant SEU-4 with
a pressure of 1-7 atm is used for repairing equipment
in the boiler and turbine houses. About 7 containers
are obtained within 24 hours with three-shift opera-

plant of 200 megawatt caracity equipped with 5 tur-
bines and 6 boilers. The electrolysis equipment of

productivity of the 3electrolysis equipment is 3.7m /h
hydrogen and 1 85 m /h oxygen. The purity of the gA-
ses is H 2 '.: 99:V; 02 = 99.4q% The additional equip-
ment for obtaining oxygen c 3nsists of 3 oxygen tanks
having a capacity of 100 m at 10 atm. '.,nce the ave-
ra~e hyd;Fogen con5umption of R TV-25-2 generator is
about 6m' or 10 m for a TV-50-2 generator, not all
of the hydrogen can be used. Installing the oxygen e-
quipment costs S0,000 rubles with an oxygen producti-
vitY of 1,330 m per month. The positive experiencP
in producing oxygen with the aforemertioned'electroly-
sis equipment is presently used at all thermal power

device for cutting tubes and fittings out pipelinoB
made of austenitic steel. This device is shown In a
diagram. For its manufacture parts of the TOS-1, TOS-
2 and Zotov's cutting machines were used. The device
is driven by an electric motor with a V-belt. The mo-
tor is directly installed on the frame of the new
cutting tool. There is 1 set of diagrams.

The authors describe a case of mesotheliorna pericardii in a 2 1 -year-old man with
clinical symptoms of haemorrhagic cricarditis. The radiological findings and the
rapid development pointed to vi a t icoplasm. It was diagnosed clinically.
Post-mortcm, examination and histopatlinolngincal analysis made it possible to diagnose
mesothelioma pericardii of mixed type. Epithelial as well as the fibrous elements
were found.
