TITLE: The Surfaces of the Centers of Curvature of a ?Tinimal Surface
. NNJ
PERIODICAL: Nauchnyye doklady vysshey shkoly. Fizilco-matematicheakiye nauki,
1958,Nr 6;pp 111-113 (USSR)
ABSTRACTs The surface 1.1 is supposed to have the following propertiess
a.) The geodesic\ curvature of the lines of constant Gaussian
curvature of this surface is equal to the square root of-the
Gaussian curvature.
b.) The orthogonal trajectories of the lines of constant
Gaussian curvature on M are geodesic lines of '11.
The author shows that to every surface M with these properties
there corresponds a unique surface Ml , the surface of cur-
vature centers of which is It .
The author thanks Professor S.P. Finikov for the guidance
of the paper.

TEXT: Filiform Co cr-jstals were grown by reduction of analytically pure
dehydrated Co bromide with hydrogen, refined of 02, The process is carried out
on a special device. The optimum temperature for Co crystal growth is 750 -
7600C, and the necessary rate of H2 flow varies within 0.4 - 0.8 cm/sec. The
f1liform crystals obtained have a thickness from a few/tto 100 'lu and a length
of a few millimeters. On the crystals obtained, the domain structure was
studied. It was established that the.surface structure of domains was extremely
complex; this is In contradiction to theoretical concepts. However, the Sur-
face domain structure is exclusively regular. A passage of domains from one to

TITLE: Review of latest achievements in phase analyses of steel
PERIODICAL: Referativnyy zhurnal, Metallurgiya, no. 1, 1962, 71, abstract 11501
("Rud. - metal. zb." 1960, no. 4, 375-382, Slovenian, German
summary)
Tl=: The authors discuss direct and indirect methods of phase analysis
of steel; electrolytic and potentiostatic singling-out of phases; methods of
singling-out oxides, sulfides, nitrides, carbides and other phases. Latest
studies performed in the USSR, are discussed in detail. There are 43 references.
