PST It.0 1
In the case zt-3 this problem has been solved by S.Sobolev (Isvestija Akad
Nauk, Ser. mat. 18L 3 (1954) 13). The author treats the case n> 3. It is
sufficient to find a solution of the hoaogeneouB equation (f =- 0) satisfying
the initial conditions %U 0, because the general case
*- 0 71-t It-O -
reduces to this case by the application of a well known method (see R.Courant-
Doklady Akad. Nauk 104, 815-816 (1955) CM 2/2 PG - 1
D.Hilbert, Methoden der Mathematischen Physik, Vol. 2.L P-401-403). The
author establishes exact formulas which solve this problem by the application
of the Fourier transformation. The obtained solution is unique in the class of
functions satisfying certain conditions of the behavior at infinity which are
not given precisely by the author.

at the conclusion that the methodologically proper examinat-

ABSTRACT: Double-acting presses have two sliding piecess an interior one which
pulls the workpiece, and an exterior one by means of which the work-
piece is pressed down during the process of drawing and by which
it is punched occasionally according to a certain contour. Both
sliding pieces move synchronously according to a fixed rule. Stretch-
ing of the material takes place on a certain part of the interior
sliding piece lift, and during this interval the exterior slide
presses down the workpiece and keeps a grip on it somewhat longer
in order that it may be removed from the drawing piece. It will be
quite sufficient if the exterior sliding piece is kept immobile
during the interval in which the crankshaft performs a revolution
of 100 - 1050. Ejection of the workpiece begins after the exterior
slide piece returns to the height of stretching, and it ends only
after the press stops moving.
Practical and analytical methods of determining driving elements
are then described and calculated on the basis of various tables,

ABSTRACT: During the past years, Soviet automobile plants predomLziant-
ly used foreign double-action presses. The development of
the Soviet automobile industry required a greater numbe.r of
double-action presses of modern design, Therefore, GOST
8247-56 was established for two-crank double-action presses,
According to this standard, a project was developed which
provided double-action presses in different sites. The

TOPIC TAGS: control system stability, steady state motion, stability, Lyapunov
j!tabili asymptotic stability
ABSTRACT: The problem of stabilizing the steady-state motion of a nonlinear control
system in the critical case of two pure imaginary roots is analyzed. Thestabiliza-
tion problem is formulated as follows: to find a stabilizing control (regulator)
such that the undisturbed motion of a nonlinear control systemis asymptotically
stable in the sense of Lyapunov. A system of equations describing such-a nonli.near
control system is written and the regulator is sought in the form of an infinite
series. By means of Lyapunov's transformation and certain modifications, the initial
system is reduced to a simplified second-order system. It is shown that in order to
solve the stability problem of the complete system, it is sufficient to analyze the
stability of a simplified system. It is assumed that the construction of the reg-
ulator is carried out in such a manner that Lyapunov's transformation is continuous.
